Project

An immersive multiplayer AR experience that shows the power and business value of 5G connectivity.

The Client

Ericsson is a global leader in mobile networks, building the future of communication technology. As the industry moves toward advanced 5G networks, Ericsson helps mobile operators upgrade from simple data providers to high-tech business platforms. To show these new capabilities to business leaders and tech experts, Ericsson needed a standout demonstration for their booth at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.

The Challenge

Explaining how a modern mobile network functions behind the scenes is highly technical. It is also tough to explain how companies can make money from these features. Traditional presentations, manuals, and simple charts fail to capture how a network automatically adjusts in real time. Ericsson needed an exciting way to grab attention on a busy event floor, host large groups at the same time, and make their tech easy for everyone to understand.

The Solution

A multiplayer Augmented Reality experience built for the Magic Leap 2 headsets. By mixing a physical setup with digital graphics, we changed complex network ideas into a shared 3D city experience. The setup features a custom physical table equipped with tracking markers to anchor the digital graphics perfectly in place. Built as a synchronized group experience, the system allows one main presenter to control the story using a menu, while up to nine guests watch the exact same digital story unfold live.

Hardware Integration and Design

AR Table
A custom circular table featuring printed tracking markers to ensure the digital graphics stay perfectly locked in place without glitching.
AR Headsets
Runs 10 headsets at the same time (1 presenter and 9 guests) with built-in charging slots and air ventilation to keep things running all day.
Local Network
Powered by a hidden router inside the table to keep the local Wi-Fi fast, ensuring all headsets stay completely in sync.
Media Wall
Includes a hidden computer and a camera mounted on a pole, streaming the live AR view to a TV screen so passersby can see the action.

Preview the AR Journey

The short video next to this text offers a quick look at our step-by-step AR experience, filmed as a test video in our office. Please note that the animations in this clip are automatically activated, though a presenter normally triggers them manually while talking about the context. See how modern 5G networks operate and generate value in real time. The preview moves from crowded digital cities and smart network overlays to a deep dive into the Las Vegas F1 racetrack. See firsthand how operators segment critical traffic, unlock new business monetization models, and map out a clear path to gaining a competitive market edge.

Project Results

  • High Engagement: By turning network tech into a shared 3D spectacle, the booth became a major attraction at the event.
  • Smooth Group Presentations: The presenter-led setup allowed the sales team to give clear, perfectly timed group talks to key business leads.
  • Absolute Clarity: Complex technical themes were translated into easy to understand 3D visuals, making it simple for non-technical people to understand the business value.
