Carrik Care | CPR Training
How we created a VR CPR training experience for Carrik Care that simulates a realistic emergency scenario.
Client
Carrik Care is a healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality care for elderly individuals, focusing on ensuring their well-being and safety. With a commitment to the professional development of caregivers, Carrik Care aims to equip their staff with the essential skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations, particularly in providing life-saving measures like CPR. By utilizing innovative technologies like virtual reality, Carrik Care strives to enhance the training of their staff and improve the quality of care provided to the elderly.

The Question
How can we create a VR training experience for Carrik Care that effectively tests users’ stress management skills while also assessing their knowledge of CPR? The training should provide a realistic environment where the user must perform the steps of CPR, including checking the pulse, calling emergency services, and deciding between chest compressions or using an AED. The scenario must take place in a senior center, where the user is a nurse responding to a heart attack.

The Solution
We developed a VR-based CPR training program set in a senior center, where users take on the role of a nurse dealing with an elderly patient experiencing a heart attack. The simulation includes critical moments such as checking the patient’s pulse, calling emergency services, and choosing the correct method for CPR (chest compressions or AED). To enhance realism, the in-game patient is synchronized with a real-life training mannequin, providing feedback during the experience. This setup tests users’ ability to manage stress while making quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
