Huawei | 5G Race
The Client
Huawei is one of the world’s largest telecom and network companies, investing heavily in 5G, the next-generation mobile communication standard. The company is pushing for global adoption and aims to raise awareness among governments, businesses, and consumers alike.
The Question
To persuade its target audience to invest in 5G, Huawei needed relevant and relatable use cases. Together with EventRent, they approached us to help create scalable, mobile, and easy-to-use experiences that could be used throughout Europe as part of their ‘5G is Now’ campaign.
The Concept
To help Huawei launch their tour across Europe, we established the ‘5G Experience Agency’ in collaboration with EventRent. We developed multiple interactive experiences to showcase the power of 5G.
5G Race
We created a race game using remote-controlled cars operated from racing playseats equipped with Oculus Rift VR headsets. The VR feed was streamed from a camera on the car—one using 5G and the other using 4G. The difference in response time clearly illustrated the advantage of 5G for applications like remote machine operation.
The Execution
We built an installation with two Playseats fitted with steering wheels and VR headsets, each connected wirelessly to a 360° camera mounted on an RC car. One car operated over 4G and the other over 5G. Players raced the cars around a track, and the difference in latency and control between the two networks was clearly felt. The first to complete a lap won the race.

The Delivery
The 5G experience was instantly effective. Players on the 4G connection struggled with delayed responses, making the car harder to control. Meanwhile, the 5G users experienced smooth and instant inputs, showcasing the practical benefits of 5G for real-time remote operations.
