LGI | International VR Onboarding
We helped LGI enhance their onboarding with immersive 360° VR videos, creating a flexible and engaging training experience.
The client
LGI was founded in 1995 from HP and has more than 5,000 employees in over 45 locations across Europe, the United States, and Russia. Logistics Group International GmbH is one of the leading contract logistics companies in Europe.

The question
As LGI continues to grow and hire new employees, they wanted to introduce them to the company, colleagues, and daily tasks as efficiently as possible. LGI aimed to improve this process with an innovative solution. VR Owl was approached to help develop a set of 360-degree onboarding videos.

The solution
A scalable VR solution in which various learning modules can be experienced both at home (online) and on location. On site, the onboarding video can be viewed with a Pico VR headset, and at home via a mobile phone with a VR cardboard. Each module focuses on a specific topic, with defined learning objectives.

The result
We produced four 360-degree videos at various locations in the Netherlands. The first highlights the organization, what it does, and its core values. The second focuses on contract logistics, the third on forwarding, and the last on technical logistics.

By land, sea, and air
Our team visited several locations, including LGI’s new site in Amsterdam, and also explored the air freight facilities at Schiphol Airport. We used drones for stunning aerial shots and filmed from forklifts and inside trucks to create dynamic videos.
Onboarding at home and on site
VR headsets are now available at several LGI locations for the onboarding process. Additionally, new employees receive a Google Cardboard so they can get to know their new employer from home. The 360-degree videos make onboarding more effective, more efficient, and more fun.
