The Client
Maya VR is a young healthcare company combating loneliness among the elderly. Using VR technology, Maya offers seniors the opportunity to take virtual day trips from the comfort of their homes, enjoying safaris, city tours, museum visits, and scenic nature walks.
The Question
With increasing demand from both domestic and international clients, Maya VR sought a scalable solution that was easy to use and remotely manageable. They approached VR Owl to develop a complete virtual reality system.
The Solution
We assisted in the technical realization of the MayaHome concept, a VR subscription service for healthcare organizations and facilities. This allows unlimited streaming of virtual tours via a VR headset. We developed a VR application for the PICO G2 4K and a CMS for content and license management.
The VR App
The application runs in kiosk mode, launching automatically when the headset is turned on. This enables residents or staff at care facilities to access content anytime, independently. The streaming service currently offers four categories: art & culture, city trips, nature, and active experiences.
CMS
The CMS includes a dashboard, licensing, and content management features. Maya VR staff can manage licenses, link VR headsets, and easily upload new 360-degree content, which is automatically pushed to the devices.
