The question

Tele2 developed their own VR headset in collaboration with fashion designer Jan Taminiau. The headset has a unique design featuring a 7-inch HD screen on the front. For the kick-off of the campaign #StreamMetStijl, Tele2 and PR agency Blyde were searching for a unique method to introduce both the campaign and the headset during a press event.

The solution

What is more appropriate for the introduction of a VR streaming campaign then a VR livestream? We accepted the challenge by showing the thirty invitees consisting of influencers and journalists the same livestream using their personal headset.

The execution

The event started at the moment the invitees walked into a surreal white space. They sat on barstools and subsequently entered the virtual world. In the livestream the Holland Next Top Models Loiza and Montell were walking around in the space, and together with Jan Taminiau they unveiled the VR headset. After this presentation the attendants were shown a message on the screen of the unique VR headset which stated they could remove it. As it turned out they were sitting across Jan and the models, and the headsets could be admired in reality.

The result

The event was very successful and gathered an incredible amount of media attention.

The visitors were surprised by the effect of the livestream which resulted in numerous publications about the event.
