Welling Architects | The Natural Station VR-Tour
How we created a VR tour for Welling Architects to present their circular station design, showcasing sustainability at Dutch Design Week 2020 and expanding the project’s reach.
The Question
ProRail, NS Stations, and Bureau Spoorbouwmeester aim for all stations in the Netherlands to be circular by 2050. Welling Architects were looking for a unique way to present their circular station of the future at the Dutch Design Week 2020. They asked VR Owl to create a 360° tour to showcase the circular station of the future.
The Solution
During the process, there was excellent collaboration between VR Owl and Welling Architects. Welling Architects produced the visual elements according to VR Owl’s instructions, allowing VR Owl to create a virtual tour of the circular station of the future.
In this tour, users can jump from point to point and navigate using a map. Additionally, users can click on information icons to learn more about the materials used and the reasons behind their choice.
The Result
This virtual reality experience gives a clear picture of what the station of the future could look like. It provides detailed information about the sustainability of the station and what has been done to make it as sustainable as possible. The project was presented at the Dutch Design Week 2020.
