How we developed a VR training for improving decision-making and physical response under pressure.
The Client
The Dutch Police Academy required a VR-based training solution to enhance the bomb defusal skills of their officers, simulating high-pressure scenarios with realistic tools, environmental factors, and challenges. This system needed to be engaging and challenging enough to prepare officers for real-life situations where calm and precision are crucial.

The Dutch Police Academy required an immersive and effective VR training experience that simulates bomb defusal scenarios while enhancing officers’ ability to handle stressful conditions. The solution needed to help them make quick decisions, operate tools efficiently, and perform under pressure, all while navigating the challenges of working at height.
The Solution
We created a comprehensive VR training environment where officers must navigate through bomb defusal scenarios using a manual to identify and disarm bombs. The training includes practical interactions with tools, such as wire cutters and a saw, as well as a physically challenging plank to simulate working from height. Each floor of the virtual building introduces new complications: the bomb’s complexity increases, and external factors like flocking birds, falling debris, and time pressure heighten the stress level, mimicking real-life unpredictability.
